Really people? When your kid trashes the house are you taking him back?

So we had this wonderful female boxer for adoption.  A seemingly great family comes along and adopts her.  Now this family has several children and it was a really nice fit.  So why today do we get a call for "advice" because she tore up the house.  So we provide that advice.  Hello people, she is a boxer!  So of course we suggest she be crated when left alone.  Hubby claims he is willing to be patient but the wife is pissed so they want to bring the dog back.  Assholes, really?  So Annie is back with us.

  1. I have a 5 day notice policy in my adoption contract. If you want to return a dog regardless of the reason, I get a 5 day notice.

I had someone want to return a dog for the same reason. I told them they couldn't for a week b/c the foster home was out of town. I told them if you are returning the dog then you have to crate her every time you can't watch her or be with her or when you leave the house b/c she is mine and I don't want her dying because she ate something.

I called a week later and WOW the creating worked and 5 months later everyone is happy.

  2. Hi! I just found your blog. Welcome to the blog world! I can't believe these people! I didn't return my Daisy even when i was told her issues had to of started before I got her (she had surgery after being with me 8 days). I couldn't take her back-I loved her too much! Don't these people know about puppy proofing and crating to help typical dog behaviors? I just don't know how you could give her back without trying everything possible first.
